BLACKPINK Makes YouTube History With 100M Subscribers, Earns Rare Red Diamond Award
Pop culture is blooming in pink! South Korean girl group BLACKPINK has officially become the first artist ever to hit 100 million subscribers on YouTube, a milestone no musician has reached before on the platform's Official Artist Channel system.
This isn't just a big deal for BLACKPINK; it's a historic first for the entire music world. YouTube rolled out a custom Red Diamond Creator Award to mark the moment, a rare honour reserved for channels that have reached 100 million subscribers.
The Journey to 100M
It took nearly nine years and eight months, since their official YouTube channel was launched in June 2016, for them to clear this record. Along the way, they've built an insane catalogue of content, from full music videos to teasers, behind-the-scenes clips, and performance footage (over 648 videos and counting).
Alongside this explosive growth in subscribers, BLACKPINK has also broken numerous viewing records:
- Nine videos on their channel have broken into the 1 Billion Views Club, including some of their most iconic videos such as DDU-DU DDU-DU, Kill This Love, BOOMBAYAH, and How You Like That.
- Their subscriber count jumped sharply earlier this year after the group announced their comeback, averaging roughly 10,000 new subs per day as excitement grew.
What the Girls Said
BLACKPINK didn't let fans wait to share their feelings; they posted a heartfelt thank-you video on YouTube, where each member showed genuine appreciation for BLINKs around the globe. Jennie, Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo each expressed how special this occasion is for them, knowing that it has been made possible by the support of BLINKs.
The Perfect Timing
This achievement comes just a few days before the highly anticipated mini-album DEADLINE by BLACKPINK is released (February 27, 2026). Fans considered this a celebration in advance, a reminder of how deep their fandom has reached.
From breaking view records to shattering subscriber history, the achievement of 100 million on YouTube by BLACKPINK is more than a PR stunt; it is a testament to how global, connected, and invested music fans are in the ever-changing world of K-pop.
